Well today marks the ending of one of the dramas I faithfully followed this year as Big makes aired its last episode. I’m a big fan of the very famous Hong sisters who are the writers of this show. I’ve seen only three of their shows: My Girl, My Girlfriend is a Guminho, and Best Love. Since I liked all three shows, I thought that I would fall easily in love with their new offering Big. Even Temi wrote about how wonderful the show was when it premiered. I felt the same fuzzies when we were introduced to our main characters and to some degree I still feel the same way about them now.
Once upon a time, K-pop groups debuted with really cool names like Big Bang, Super Junior, Girl’s Generation, Shinhwa, g.O.d, etc. There wasn’t any sort of gimmick to their names and if there were some fancy meaning to their names (like g.O.d) they didn’t sound stupid, random, or nonsensical. However, a wave of newcomers in the recent years began experimenting with names that they think will make them stand out and sound more important or fancy with the English words they oh so carefully chose to describe their bands. The result: ill-fitting adjectives, unintentionally humorous names, and unfortunate jokes. Here at Dramapop, we’d like to share our list of the ten dumbest K-pop band names that we’ve come across.
Woot! I haven’t done one of this in a while. This is another multi-tasking post with two different blog features combined into 1 easy-to-digest (I promise!) post that accomplishes both tasks! This one has to do with the, by now, 2-week old drama “I Do, I Do”. I give you ten reasons why I adore this drama.
Hee!!!! Obviously I’m squealing with delight over the new Big Bang album even if it’s considerably uneven compared to past work (more on that in the actual review) because Big Bang is my favorite group. Since Temi has already compiled a list of the Top 10 Big Bang songs in honor of their European Award back in the fall, I offer my ten favorite Big Bang solo material. While Big Bang is definitely a great five-member group, they also shine individually, meaning there is more for us fans to love. After that, I’ll give you my 10 favorite Big Bang songs.
So you probably noticed that the writers here at DramaPop took an extended hiatus just to get adjusted to the new semester. Looking back, I realized I missed out on a whole buttload of great releases. Here are my top ten favorites:
In lieu of a traditional “What I Like About” review of the incredibly unconventional “History of a Salaryman”, I’d like to present my ten favorite shots from the show’s first episode. The show is visually literal and there are plenty of shots (some of them extended shots) that make this show just gorgeous to look at, not to mention very very funny.
As most of you know, finals may be the most depressing time of a student’s life. While studying, I came to the realization that some songs just have that feel-good factor that really picks you up. I compiled a list of the songs I played the most during my finals week. Check out my top ten below! Continue reading
