[Review] Brown Eyed Girls-Sixth Sense

22 Sep

I seriously don’t think I’ve ever been more excited for a comeback as I was for the Brown Eyed Girls (hmm, well maybe for Big Bang). But my anticipation was to the extent that I forced one of my friends to stay up and text me the moment the album came out. The Brown Eyed Girls are a quartet who debuted back in 2006 and released albums in 2008 and 2009. Continue reading

[Artist Profile] Epitone Project

22 Sep

I don’t know how I did it, but I stumbled upon gold of the KPop variety. In case you didn’t know, I am kind of an Indie music fan. Some of my favorite artists are Jung In, 10cm, Nell, Broccooli, You Too, Taru,  Tearliner, Ra.D, and now, Epitone Project. Continue reading

[Review] Huh Gak-Hello MV

16 Sep

So up until now, singer Huh Gak has never really caught my attention. I just knew that he was some winner of some singer reality show, but I never took the time to listen to any of his music. With the release of both his new album (First Story) and new MV(Hello ft. B2ST’s Junhyung, actor Lee Hyun Jin, and actress Kang Sora), I am definitely impressed with both Huh Gak’s vocal talent and the poignant music video/drama. Continue reading

[Review] JYJ – In Heaven (*****)

Ever since the, by now, legendary group DBSK broke up, there has been questions about whether either new entities could live up to the success and fame of the original 5-member group. The answer is, of course, yes they can. JYJ and TVXQ still attract the same huge following across Asia even when they’re split in two. Now it’s one thing to wonder whether the new groups can be successful and another to think about how good their music is.

Earlier this year, both entities released new material. I detested JYJ’s album, especially its messy lead single Ayyy Girl while I was absolutely floored by TVXQ’s efforts. With that said, both groups are releasing new material this fall and are preparing for round two. And so far, JYJ is impressing THE HECK out of me with this gorgeous release.

[Review] KARA-Step

7 Sep

First of all, I am really happy that KARA was able to get over the whole disbanding issue and come out with a chart-topping single this year. I have never really been a huge fan of KARA, but I loved their transformation for “Lupin” and also even though I hate to admit it, “Jumping” is one of those songs that I always sing because it is just so catchy!! Continue reading

[Review] Davichi-Love Delight

1 Sep

I am seriously loving all of the KPop comebacks recently (Leessang, U-KISS, G. NA). Though I have been running low on time to review them since starting college (whoo!), I’ll try as hard as I can to recap as quickly as possible! Continue reading
