Although I haven’t written a WTF post for a pretty long time, I saw something recently that inspired me.
I watched the music video for the title track of Super Junior’s new album, Sexy, Free and Single a couple days ago. As much as I tried to focus on the song, I was completely distracted by their…let’s call it “fashion choice”. Now, I understand that these days, the wackier your MV is, the more attention it garners (i.e 2NE1’s “I’m the Best, Sunny Hill’s “Midnight Circus”). Super Junior has been around for a while now and they return with their sixth. As with their previous albums, this set only features ten of the thirteen members, with Heechul leaving for military service and his place replaced by a returning Kangin. This album can also be the last one for leader Leeteuk, who is nearing his military enlistment. What does that mean for this stalwart Kpop group? New directions apparently, as they explore new styles and different sounds.
Super Junior, you know I love you, but you just have to come up with better names for your songs.
Although I’ll probably say this every year, I really feel as though 2011 was a great year for Kpop. So many artists had their debuts and comeback so there was a wealth of great music produced. Continue reading

50. Don’t Spray Perfume – Teen Top:
The lyrics are sexy and forbidding, the music is fun and bright, and the vocals are quite mature.
49. They Are Coming – Wheesung:
His last song before the military carries bittersweet undertones; He is a fantastic singer and lyricist.
48. One Last Cry – N-Train:
The new 4Men? Maybe. This song does well to showcase their very strong vocals. The music is sweet too.
